The Hong Kong Career Development Forum 2026 marks the inaugural gathering of career development practitioners, researchers, and educators across Hong Kong. At a time when the world of work is shifting rapidly, the professionals who guide others through career transitions have never been more essential — or more in need of a community of their own.
This forum brings us together to share what we know, reflect on what we do, and imagine where our field is headed. Whether you come as a practitioner with years of frontline experience, a researcher building the evidence base, or an educator shaping the next generation — you belong here.
Four areas of inquiry
Whether you are registering to attend or applying through the Call for Speakers, you are welcome to engage with these four themes, focused on education and career guidance in Hong Kong.
Focuses on secondary-school DSE subject selection and life planning, and on the gap between leaving tertiary education and entering the workplace — promoting regular, institutionalised links between education, NGOs and employers.
Addresses the isolation that secondary-school teachers, NGO social workers and independent coaches feel when handling complex cases, and explores supervision mechanisms, training, and locally grounded CPD accreditation standards for Hong Kong.
Unpacks the new generation's rejection of the traditional “upward mobility” framework (slash careers, “lying flat”), and offers practical counselling tools for people from diverse backgrounds.
A grounded look at how generative AI can make résumé and interview coaching more efficient in practice, where the boundaries of data privacy and integrity lie, and how emerging tools can be applied.
